The Fabulous Fafi

So who exactly is this chick named Fafi? Perhaps you have seen one of her designs before, on M.A.C. Cosmetics or Le Sportsac. Fafi just happens to be one of my favorite mainstream inspirational and bold artists (i just thought it would be great to blog about one of my favorite artists). Fafi is a graffiti artist that started out studying under Miss Van and Miss Kat. Originally from Toulouse, her graffiti was first noticed on walls of her hometown in 1994. Fafi essentially is known for her images of sexy and liberated girls in a blend of graffiti and fine art. Fafi is the epitome of DOPE. Her work captures 3D effect and has become mainstream. Fafi's work has taken over shirts, handbags and has been showcased in collaborations with Adidas. She has had articles in prestigious magazines such as Vogue, Elle, The Face, XLR8R, Yen and much more. Fafi's creativity has been documented in her two books GIRLS ROCK (2003) and LOVE AND FAFINESS (2006). Fafi is also the wife of DJ Mehdi of the Ed Banger label. I think they look cute together. Perhaps Fafi was the inspiration behind Gwen Stefani's Harajuku Girls? Fafi's style, technique and aspect on art has captured my attention and hopefully she has captured yours. She is yet another example of Females with an inspirational idea. LOVE HER.

Life is Precious

There was a shooting on Hampton University's campus. It was displayed all over the news. Mnay students were affected by horrible event. Three people were shot. Luckily nobody died. None the less, the events of this crazy situation got some people thinking about their life. Life is precious, and because of moments like these, it is important that you live everyday to the fullest.

So Lady Gaga sported this purple wig outside of her hotel in London. Thought it was pretty interesting. Perhaps it is only her that can get away with such acts as this. either way, she's too cool.

Amber, Amber, Amber.......Amber! Well, this ad was for Kanye West's Louis Vuitton Sneaker ad Campaign. I don't know what told Amber to do this, or who actually had this idea, but either way....this is a fierce ad. Thumbs up. I wonder how many people are going to be inspired to buy this sneaker after seeing this ad? hmmmm....

Just Wondering.....

What exactly is love? Some people, actually, a lot of people struggle with this question. I believe I have my own definition of Love, and when I choose to say it, I mean it. What mind boggles me when it comes to the concept of Love, is when another person has the audacity to tell me that "you shouldn't just throw around the word Love." Quite frankly, if that's the way you feel, then use it. I believe that many times, especially concerning developing bonds and friendships, Love doesn't have a time frame or an alarm that lets you know when to use it. However, I do feel that once the word Love is used, there is no turning back. Love remains.

In conclusion, if ever a person tells you that "you don't know what Love is" or "you shouldn't say that word or just throw it around".....just remember, that those exact same people telling you what to do with Love are the same people trying to grasp the concept of Love just like yourself. In due time, you will create your own definition of love, if you haven't done so already.

Now I know the video goes mute for a second, and you cant even hear her singing the rest of the song, however....its one of those rare sightings of this kung fu chick doing what she does best....and thats being random, whether its to a Souljah Boy song, or the beats of her own drum.

Jimi Hendrix was tryna spit game to my girl last night

There always seems to be a case where the fruit cups have suddenly gone missing. You walk into your dorm room, and empty cups, left with remnants of sweet fruit juice are left behind...bare. The culprit? !?!?!?!!?

The FruitCup Bandit....Ashleigh Sampson.....anywho, onto her interesting encounter with Jimi Hendrix.

So, just a few minutes ago, my girl, my roomate Ashleigh was talking about how she had this weird dream about one of her favorite artists Jimi Hendrix. Her dream included her poster of Jimi Hendrix (to the left) just randomly talking to her. According to her, he was talking so much to the point that she was doing magic in order to shut him up, like yelling random spells at him. From, the way she told me this story, it was entirely too funny, to the point I had to blog about it. I swear, my roomate hands down is one of the most randomest people I know. Therefore, I send a warning out to all females who are infatuated with the work of the musically inclined Jimi Hendrix: Watch out, he'll come for you in your dreams. I guess. Well.
